WIP Wednesday: Another Mermaid Tears Purse
I was so happy with the outcome of my Mermaid Tears Purse that I decided I should make another one. I'm using Red Heart Super Saver in Windsor Blue. I haven't yet decided whether or not I will add a flower this time. I might just go ahead and make one and then decide if I want to attach it at the end. I really like how the purse is coming together so far. It really is an easy pattern and like I mentioned before there is a video tutorial if you have a hard time following the written pattern.
I hope all my American blogger friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow! Since my husband and I aren't going to be here in Germany much longer we decided to pass on celebrating at home and will instead visit a nearby German town and do some shopping. We want to stock up on some German kitchen items before we leave.

Kit Kat purse
My latest crochet project is the Kit Kat purse. My friend's daughter is a huge Hello Kitty fan so when I came across this free pattern a few months ago, I knew I had to make it for her sometime. Finally, I was able to start on the project this week. Ï just need to run downtown and pick up some more pink yarn so the strap of the purse will be long enough and buy some pink fabric to line the purse. This will be my first time lining a purse. Hopefully, I can dig deep and remember some of my junior high Home Economic skills.
I have to say maybe it's because it's been a mentally draining month or something, but working on this project has brought a smile to my face. I'm anxiously awaiting the completion of the purse. I know that the 3 year old that I'm making this for will absolutely love it, and that warms my heart.

Completed Hobo Bag
I completed the Hobo Bag last night. I am pleased with myself for branching out and making a bag for the first time. I tend to crochet very loosely so if I made this bag again I would probably use an even smaller hook ( I used an I hook this time even though the pattern called for a K hook). I would also consider revising the pattern so there are less rows. I followed the pattern but it ended up being longer than I would prefer. I probably won't use this as an everyday bag but I think it will make a great beach bag for Hawaii next year.

Good start to my Hobo bag
Things have settled down some what so I've been able to get a good start on my Hobo bag. I'm hoping I can get the rest done today since it looks like according to the pattern that the majority of what is left is just mindless double crochet. I'm very excited to see the completed product and it's coming at a perfect time since I need a good spring/summer bag.

Mindless Crochet
I made a few potholders and washcloths this weekend. I would have liked to work more on the bag I started last week. Things have been so crazy and hectic lately, it's been hard for me to concentrate on a new pattern. I think some more mindless crochet like making more washcloths is what is in store for today. I hope I get my mojo back because I am looking forward to making a bag for the first time.

An Owl, Wooden Clogs, and a Bag
So my husband is finally home and I got to give him his gifts that I got in Amsterdam. He loves owls so I got him a figurine. And I knew I'd regret leaving without a pair of wooden clogs so I bought that as well. He loved them so now I feel less guilty for going on vacation without him.
I mentioned yesterday I was going to attempt to make a bag off the top of my head because I couldn't find a pattern I liked. I wasn't thrilled with how the bag was turning out so I started blog surfing when I came across the Hobo Bag Pattern. Wish I would have found it sooner because it is exactly what I was looking for in a bag. I'm going to frog what I started and try that pattern out. I'm hoping I have enough yarn for it.

I'm up for a challenge
I bought this cotton yarn awhile ago online and when it arrived it was a little more white than I expected. I was hoping less white and a little more black. So it has been sitting in a drawer for at least a year while I tried to figure out what to do with it. I finally decided it would make a good summer bag to carry around.
So I surfed around the internet yesterday hoping to find a good pattern that wasn't too complicated for me and I really didn't see anything that grabbed my attention. I'm thinking about coming up with something on my own which should be interesting because it will be a first. I already know it won't be anything fancy and as long as it resembles a bag then I will be happy. Of course my husband is coming home tomorrow and I need to clean the house so I'm not sure when I'll get started. Hopefully soon, because I'm looking forward to the challenge.
